Duping (previously only on europe, brought to all realms thx to Treak!)
First thing's first. You MUST have a no-save game (easy to recognize. Harder to find). Then have a friend hold the game open and run Versus v2.3.bat. A small GUI will appear. Now restart Diablo II. Rejoin the game and proceed normally dropping items and rejoining (you will have a whole bunch of in-game items that you want to take out). IT IS RECCOMENDED THAT YOU USE ITEMS WITH NO ITEM ID SUCH AS SOJS, ITH ITEMS OR ED/MAX / ED/IAS ARMOR! If you don't the process will just take a little longer. When you're satisfied, alt+tab back out to Versus and click the button that says "Duping". A small tree will fold down. If you're using an item with an item ID (any item not listed above), then go into trade with your friend. Put the item up you want ot leave with and close trade. Go back to Versus and click "Force Save". This will send variations of the "61" packet, which will save and exit the game. If you are using an item with an item ID, log onto a different character and do the process over again. If you did it to an ith or soj just use the same character.

Run Versus v2.3 and click on "Optimize Connection"
